Blox & 9 towers - What do they do?

Saw that I can extend the Blox up to 9 towers. I understand one will be the docking station. What do the other towers do?

Towers right now are CPU, Hub and Storage. This will soon extend to GPU, Router. We can envision other open-source projects using our open-source hardware.
